How do you attract so many of them, Patrick? Are you enticing them with something especially delicious? I only see one, perhaps every couple of months, sprinting across my patio. You appear to have multiples appearing daily...

Nothing more the Purina dog chow most of the fime. They also can find a bit of fun mlette, bread with bacon grease, cooked potatoes, corn on the cob or whatever I've made and served too much of. Mostly Purian though -- easy to scoop out. I fed very intermittently, but they check every location and very night. The little koi pond provides water which attracts too I think.

A feast, then. I've always wanted to keep a pond, but friends say they spend too much time fighting off the local raccoons (and occasional passing heron) from dropping in and scooping out all the fish. Maybe foxes aren't interested (?)

Racoons are stopped by making the pond deep enough. Fox ignore fish. Herons can be a problem. I have Lilly pads and some structure that help, but in truth my fish are for mosquito control and cost all of $20 for 60 feeder goldfish. They live for a year or two.

Oh, I see. You're not interested (in fish survival).

I must say, I never considered them as a source of potential mosquito control. It's a great idea.
